Laura Meyer Joins us in California

2/09/11 - The Crepe Place, Santa Cruz CA
The first of 3 shows with Laura Meyer this week...and what a fun night to start off the mini-tour with! The Crepe Place was packed full of eager college students ready to have their minds blown...

Thanks to Dan for the wonderful revitalizing raw diet while we stayed in the Santa Cruz Mountains

~~~
2/10/11 - Smiley's Schooner Saloon, Bolinas CA (if you can find it)
A rowdy rural pub in the beautiful coastal village of Bolinas
So beautiful, that the locals take down all signs that might direct tourists there...the best kept secret of Marin County (and we plan to help keep it that way).
~~~

2/11/11 - The Ukiah Brewing Company, Ukiah CA
Our last night with Laura (until the next time)... it was great to see so many familiar faces!

A Poem From The Road:

Never knew I'd be a traveler girl
wandering down the road with no diamonds or pearls
But I am happy as a clam
working on a grain of sand
There may be a home beyond the stars and sun
but even then there's no less days than when we first begun
I want to speakeasy brother and sip on Ale
I am a carpenters daughter and I am a traveler girl
When I am done and it's my time to go
I may be poor with no riches to show
But those who knew me will surely understand
I was a traveler girl working on a grain of sand
Happy as a saltwater clam
And as the seasons change, so do we
and we end up where we were meant to be
A clam with it's sand in the saltwater sea
A girl with a plan that was meant to be

Ode To The North West

Oh you soggy North West
you dampened our hair
with the breath of the ocean
lying heavy in the air
Heavy in the air
from the sea to the peaks
of the Olympic Peninsula
and the sky scraper streets
To your kind hearted people,
we brought our music to share...
And we sold lots of albums
as you dampened our hair...

~~~
2/02/11 - Six Rivers Brewery, Mckinleyville CA
"A talkative fan"
~~~

2/03/11 - Sam Bond's Garage, Eugene OR
Thanks to Stagger And Sway for a fun night at our favorite spot in Eugene

And thanks to Jerry for introducing us to his lovely Longhaired Whippets
and for the place to park our rig...

~~~
2/04/11 - Sirens Public House, Port Townsend WA
We camped in the "gravel pit" after the show... what a view...
~~~

2/05/11 - The Mandolin Cafe, Tacoma WA
This beautiful cafe just keeps getting better and better...

~~~
2/06/11 - The Laurelthirst Public House, Portland OR
The coziest pub in Portland with the friendliest regulars...
NorthWest Album Release Tour and Journal Paintings Begin....
To try something new, we are going to be keeping a tour journal of paintings from the road. Special thanks to Kirsten Liske for not only giving us the idea, but putting together a care-package of supplies for the road!
We hope you enjoy this new way of following our travels....
Last weekend, we had the pleasure of sharing two shows with our friends Misner & Smith. Friday night, we played to a super fun crowd at Aqus Cafe in Petaluma. News From The Road
Our new self-titled album mastering is complete! We had a great week in Boulder, CO mastering with David Glasser at Airshow Studios, hanging with friends and shooting photos for the new album (see sample above).
From the Great Rocky Mountains, we headed east. We had a great time in Missouri and Kansas and were blown by tornado strength winds up into Omaha where, as expected, we had a blast playing music with our buddies at Barley Street Tavern. We were kindly put up by Omaha’s emerging Indie Folk Rock band Midwest Dilemma and headed into Iowa from there. We hit up Des Moines, Dubuque and Davenport and are now making our way to Chicago for a show with our friends Miss Shevaughn and Yuma Wray at The Elbo Room.
We are extremely excited to head south to meet up with our friend Laura Meyer with whom we’ll be sharing a handful of shows with all around those Smokey Mountains, including an appearance on WDVX Blue Plate Special on Monday Nov. 8th! You can TUNE IN ONLINE for this special appearance…
For a FULL and UP-TO-DATE list of upcoming SHOWS, visit our WEBSITE!
We are continuing to work on album art and are VERY excited to share our new recordings with all of you early 2011! We will be having a series of “Pre-release” shows where we will be selling physical copies of the album HOT off the press before it's available online! Stay tuned for these dates!!
PEACE!
Mega Tour continues....Northwest!
From the hot deserts of the Southwest to the soggy soils of the Northwest, we have been non-stop since early August, and we’re “take’n names” !
This rainy evening in Seattle, we are sitting at The Blue Moon waiting for 9pm to roll around while listening to pool cues and deep conversation. We will be sharing the night with local bands Joshua Melum And The Powers That Be and Jesus Chords!
Tomorrow we make the long drive to Missoula where we will be sharing The Top Hat's stage with San Francisico rockers The Stone Foxes (this band is managed by Gwyneth's highschool buddy Joe Barham AKA "Joe Rock"). It will be well worth the long drive.
After Missoula, we have a string of shows including Coeur D’Alene (ID), Spokane (WA), and Ashland (OR) that will lead us home to the Mendocino Coast for a special show in Westport at The Abalone Pub on Friday September 24th followed by a whirlwind of a day at Caspar Fest where Gwyneth will perform with Foxglove at 1pm and Gwyneth & Monko will play at 3pm right before the Gorse Monster Parade! Later that night, catch Foxglove at The Headlands Coffee House in Fort Bragg.
We will be in the studio for the last week of September finishing up our new album due out early next year! Stay tuned!
